It's uncommon for bees to build their nests in the open in our region. They often succumb to the elements, especially when we get weeks of rain. The ones that do survive usually find a way to build comb at the top of the nest to deflect rain and keep the brood nest dry. 🐝 I relocated this nest in late 2021. It was high in a tree next to the historic Lamb House prior to its spectacular restoration. Overlooking the Brisbane River with spectacular views of the city, 8 metres up, the bees had a pre
