ST. PAUL, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A special election will be held in September to fill the Minnesota House seat once held by Representative Melissa Hortman. Rep. Hortman was shot dead in her Brooklyn Park home last month.

Candidacy filing will close on July 22, with possible primary elections to be held on August 12 if multiple candidates from the same political party file to run
