The WWE announced a bevy of new matches for WrestleMania tonight on Monday Night Raw. The most prominent of those matches will see Penta defending the WWE Intercontinental Championship in a ladder match.

Four men “qualified” for an I.C. title match against Penta at WrestleMania, though one hasn’t even wrestled in 2026.

Penta will defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship in a ladder match at WrestleMania 42. The announcement for the ladder match at WrestleMania was made by Penta after he successfully defended the IC Title against Kofi Kingston on Raw. Penta challenged anyone who dared enter his kingdom to try and climb the ladder and take the title.

Penta is finally getting his hands on Dominik Mysterio on WWE RAW, but he has an idea of how the match can be even more fun. Penta spoke with WrestleZone Editor-in-Chief Bill Pritchard at WWE 2K26 Creator Fest at WWE Headquarters about his history in ladder matches.
