Severe storms capable of tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds are expected to develop between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Isolated storms are possible on Sunday, but dry air could push the moisture too far east for an impact in Minnesota. However, NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center says that if a storm or two can develop, “the potential will remain for large hail, damaging wind, and perhaps a tornado.”
Showers and drizzle are expected on Saturday, with more rain likely by the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will rise overnight, possibly reaching the low 80s and feeling humid on Sunday. MN weather live updates: Severe storms roll across southern Minnesota
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch until 10 p.m. for portions of southern and southeastern Minnesota, northern Iowa and central and western Wisconsin. So far, the Twin Cities metro is not included.
Minnesota will see areas of fog Thursday morning, clearing by late morning. Expect widespread highs in the 40s and 50s, with pockets of 60s in southwestern regions. The warming trend continues through part of the weekend, with highs reaching the 60s and 70s.
