Remarkably, Tyrone and Kerry did not lock horns in the championship arena until the 1986 All-Ireland final. They have since met eight times in the GAA's showpiece competition. The game was won in the third minute of the second period of extra-time when Sorcha Gormley bundled the ball across the line to give her side a four-point lead, 4-16 to 4-12, this after Aoife Horisk had edged Tyrone in front from a free.
